Advantages of Z3D PLA-CF-Sample filament
- Very high stiffness – ideal for functional and load-bearing parts
- Slightly lighter than standard PLA due to carbon reinforcement
- Excellent dimensional accuracy – minimal warping
- Premium surface – technical look without post-processing
- Higher heat resistance than standard PLA
- Low shrinkage – great results even without an enclosure
- Vacuum-sealed packaging with silica gel
- Compatible with all common 3D printers (Prusa, Creality, Anycubic, Bambu Lab, etc.)
Recommended Printing Settings
- Nozzle temperature: 230 – 250 °C (depending on print speed & hotend)
- Heated bed: 70 – 90 °C (for best adhesion)
- Fan: 30 – 60% – reduced cooling improves layer bonding compared to PLA
- Enclosure: not required
- Nozzle: hardened or steel recommended — carbon fibres are abrasive
- Build surface: textured plate, PEI or BlueTape
Typical Applications
- Lightweight, robust bicycle parts
- Automotive prototypes, housings & mounts
- Functional parts under mechanical load
- Model making & drone components
- Precision jigs & tools
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why is PLA-CF so strong? Carbon fibres significantly increase stiffness and dimensional stability — ideal for technical components.
Do I need a closed build chamber? No, unlike ABS-CF or ASA-CF, PLA-CF prints well on open printers.
Which nozzle is required? PLA-CF is abrasive — we recommend hardened steel or ruby nozzles to reduce wear.
