Processing & Printing Tips
PLA 2.85 mm is forgiving and easy to handle. Since the printer needs to melt a larger volume of plastic per millimeter of movement, ensuring adequate heat transfer in the nozzle is key.
Recommended Settings (Z3D PLA 2.85 mm)
- Nozzle Temperature: 195 °C – 225 °C (slightly higher than for thin filaments)
- Heated Bed: 40 °C – 60 °C (recommended for adhesion, but optional)
- Cooling: 100 % Part Cooling Fan for sharp details and bridges
- Print Speed: 40 – 70 mm/s (depending on hotend power)
