Printing & Material Properties

Due to the metal content, PLA-Metal shows increased abrasiveness, which is why a hardened or coated nozzle is recommended. Printing behavior generally matches standard PLA, although slightly higher temperatures may be required because of the metal particles.

Optimal Print Settings for PLA-Metal

• Nozzle Temperature: 200–230 °C
• Heated Bed: 40–60 °C
• Build Chamber: open or closed
• Cooling Fan: 50–100% for fine details
• Print Speed: 30–50 mm/s
• Nozzle: ≥0.4 mm, ideally hardened (due to abrasiveness)

Tip: For an exceptionally refined metallic finish, the final print can be polished, brushed, or waxed. Using a larger nozzle helps reduce the risk of clogs caused by metal particles.
