FAQ – PLA Filament
- Why is PLA so popular?
- It is extremely easy to print, low-warping and offers excellent surface finish.
- Is PLA food safe?
- PLA itself can be food safe, but printed surface structures contain micro pores. Limited usage is recommended.
- Can PLA be used in a car?
- No, it softens around 55–60 °C. PETG, ASA or ABS are better choices for higher heat.
- Is PLA biodegradable?
- PLA is made from renewable resources like corn starch but only biodegradable under industrial composting conditions.
- Can PLA be recycled?
- Yes, PLA can be recycled and is a more sustainable choice than ABS.
